Making A Website - 18th September 2012
Today I have created a website, when creating my website I was able to learn how to design my page as well as learning how to add pages and drop down menu's to my site.
Skills Development - 27th November 2012
Since creating my website I have started to conduct my research for my magazine. I have learnt 5 different conventions which I am able to apply to both my double page spread and front cover. I have conducted a survey consisting of 5 participants who each answered 5 questions, through conducting this survey I have been able to generate a clear idea of what I would like my magazine to consist of. I have also analyzed 4 different front covers and 2 different double page spreads to gain idea's on how to create my own magazines double page spread. I have also written my article which is to be included in my double page spread.
Skills Development - 4th December 2012
Since conducting the research for my magazine I have created templates for my double page spread. I have been able to generate potential headlines and stand firsts which will be used for my double page spread. Through photoshop I have been able to design my headline in a san serif font which was inspired by ' Bow Wow's ' double page spread which I have previously analyzed.
Skills Development - 18th December 2012
Since My last development of skills update I have taken photo's for my magazine, these images consisted of 2 different subjects in a variety of locations. Using the images I had taken I have edited them and placed them onto my double spread in accordance to my chosen template. I Have also placed my completed article onto my double pagespread and organised them into equal sized columns.
Skills Development - 22nd January 2013
I have completed my double page spread, this includes a completed article + equal columns, stand first clear page numbers, headline, edited image and byline. I have uploaded my completed double page spread to my website before starting my front cover. I have analyzed the images taken previously before Christmas and found that the amount is not enough and neither is the variety of images, this has caused my inability to complete my front cover as their is no image and I am planning to take more photo's by my next skills development update.
Skills Development - 29th January 2013
I have gone out and taken a different set of photographs to be used for my front cover and contents page, my models are in a new environment with a new costume change which will add variety through out my magazine, when taking the pictures I also learnt from my previous shoot to deal with lighting better resulting in my images having a much more quality appearance. Due to me creating the layout of the magazine already so I knew what shots I needed to take to add to my front cover without changing the design I had created.
Skills Development - 5th February 2013
I have two lessons left to complete my magazine with my front cover and double page spread completed I have my contents page to finish I will keep the gold and black theme and use it for my content page also transferring skills such as making my font gold with an existing image as well as making the columns and fonts consistent through out my contents page just like those found on my contents page and front cover.
Skills Development - 12th February 2013
I have finished my contents page although I only had one design for it which I had to alter as I went along, I believe it shows the same amount of Photoshop skills I had learnt on my front cover and contents page well however I did not have enough time to try anything new.
