Publishing House Case Study
For this case study I shall be analyzing the publishing company
‘Conde Nast Digital’ this company produces a range of lifestyle magazines which
focus on home and fashion. The titles which Conde Nast produces are: Vogue,
Glamour, British GQ, Conde Nast Traveller, Easy Living, Tatler, House and
Garden, Brides, GQ Style, Vanity Fair, Wired and
Love.
Looking at the range of magazines this company produces you
easily gain an insight into their target audience, Out of the 13 magazine Conde
Nast produces 8 which are specifically targeted at women who are interested in
fashion and design as well as lifestyle, 3 of these magazines are solely aimed
at men who are interested in fashion, design and lifestyle also whilst two can
be seen as unisex which is the Conde Nast Traveller although it leans towards a
more feminine audience as well as their World Of Interiors Magazine which leans
in neither way . Conde Nast has the same theme of fashion, design and lifestyle
throughout many of their magazines each magazine is targeted at a different age
range and lifestyle of a person. Conde Nast has taken on to targeting this
large range of people so they can attract the largest range of advertisers in
their magazines as possible, if they gain a large number of advertisers this
increases their profit margin.
Conde Nast does not just produce a range of magazines but also
services these services include their Conde Nast Johansens which is a website
that helps the customer find hotels, spas and venues abroad as well as their
Conde Nast publishing website which is about the magazine and their clients
etc.
